Liverpool

Liverpool have drifted out to as big as 11/4 with BOYLE Sports in the Premier League outright winner odds following Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Chelsea.

That reversal came after the Reds went down by the same scoreline away to Crystal Palace and tasted defeat at Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Arne Slot’s title holders have slipped to second place in the table, a point behind Arsenal, after conceding in stoppage time against the injury-hit Blues.

“We came to Stamford Bridge with them having eight injuries, we’re thinking this can be positive, they don’t have the options from the bench,” said Slot. “But they did have a few good options from the bench to impact the game.”

Chelsea

Chelsea showcase strength in depth

Chelsea took a deserved lead through a sublime long-range strike from Moises Caicedo before Cody Gakpo pounced on Alexander Isak’s lovely flick-on to equalise.

However, a high-octane game in west London was decided in dramatic fashion in the fifth minute of time added on when substitute Estevao Willian slid in at the far post.

The Blues, who had manager Enzo Maresca sent off for his wild celebrations following the winner, are five points off the summit and 25/1 for the title.

Assistant boss Willy Caballero commented: “We finished today with a back four of all full-backs. The players from the bench were ready to go and play. They didn’t ask questions, they just went on the pitch and did fantastic.

“The goal gave the emotions to Enzo to run. Today is a great victory. The whole crowd was living the game. That's what we want to create, an environment that is nasty for the away team.”

Arsenal

Arteta enjoys landmark success

Arsenal went top after a Declan Rice strike and Bukayo Saka’s penalty earned them a 2-0 home victory over West Ham and the Gunners have been cut to 10/11 to be crowned champions for the first time since 2004.

Rice and captain Martin Odegaard picked up knocks at Emirates Stadium but Mikel Arteta was delighted to mark his 300th match in charge with a win.

Arteta reflected: “Very proud. It is a big number for this football club. I want to thank everybody, especially my coaching staff that have been with me since day one, and without them it’s impossible first of all to do the job and secondly to enjoy it.

“I wanted to celebrate it with a win, I’ve got it. Now we have an international break to enjoy it and use the time as well to prepare, because what’s coming in the next break is going to be really difficult again.”

Man City

City win marred by fresh Rodri blow

Manchester City can be backed at 4/1 in the Premier League outright winner odds after a 1-0 success at Brentford left them three points adrift of Arsenal.

Erling Haaland’s early strike proved enough to provide Pep Guardiola with his 250th win as a manager in England’s top flight.

The Spaniard said: “In the first half, we were at our best and could have scored more goals to make it a little easier.

“We knew at half-time they would push more. Throw-ins, corners, free-kicks, always you suffer. But the game was well played.”

Sadly, City’s afternoon was soured when midfielder Rodri suffered more injury misery, with Guardiola reporting: “It looks like a hamstring but we don’t know the damage yet.”
