With the second round of top-flight fixtures coming up this weekend, we’re highlighting four players to consider from the Premier League first goalscorer odds.
Erling Haaland (5/2) and Chris Wood (5/1) put us in profit last time, and if all our new selections break the deadlock in their respective matches, punters could pick up a massive 1391/1 payout from the accumulator.
Premier League Goalscorer Tips – First Goalscorer Best Bets
9/2 Tip #1
EVANILSON @ 9/2
The Bournemouth front man struggled to make an impression against Liverpool at Anfield, where he was overshadowed by team-mate Antoine Semenyo’s double strike, but Evanilson should find the Wolves defenders far more conducive company.
The Brazilian reached double figures in the top flight last term and grabbed a poacher’s goal against Wanderers in the FA Cup at Vitality Stadium. He deserves to stay on our list of forwards to follow for now.
11/4 Tip #2
VIKTOR GYOKERES @ 11/4
The Arsenal striker made a rather modest Premier League debut away to Manchester United, but his physical presence was there for all to see. A record of 68 goals in 66 Primeira Liga appearances for Sporting Lisbon over the past two seasons prompted the Gunners to pay £64million for his services, and it will surely only be a matter of time before he comes good.
A few high-profile pundits have been quick to question the Sweden international’s quality, but sometimes you have to BACK YOURSELF, and we saw enough at Old Trafford to keep the faith.
8/1 Tip #3
KAORU MITOMA @ 8/1
Mitoma helped Brighton to establish an excellent record against Everton at Goodison Park and can hopefully find the Hill Dickinson Stadium a happy hunting ground as well. The Japan international netted first when Albion secured a 4-1 success over the Toffees on Merseyside three seasons ago and broke the deadlock in last term’s early 3-0 triumph at Goodison.
Six of his 10 Premier League strikes last season came on the road, so he clearly doesn’t suffer from travel sickness.
13/2 Tip #4
MATHEUS CUNHA @ 13/2
The Brazil forward may have ended up on the losing side on his Premier League debut for Manchester United, but it certainly wasn’t for the want of trying. He was a thorn in Arsenal’s side throughout the match and tested David Raya with three shots on target from inside the box, so a desire to get in goal-scoring positions is apparent.
Last term’s 17 strikes for Wolves in all competitions featured 10 away from home, including a double versus Fulham at Craven Cottage, where he also scored the previous season.
