Brighton to beat Fulham @ 20/23
Fabian Hurzeler's first campaign at the helm showed plenty of promise and the Seagulls finished strongly to claim four wins and a draw from their final five fixtures, including a thrilling 3-2 home victory over Liverpool.
Joao Pedro has gone but Brighton always seem to unearth a hidden gem or two each summer. Fulham will have been satisfied with mid-table stability in 11th but closed with six defeats in nine outings.
Tottenham to beat Burnley @ 1/3
Spurs suffered a double blow with James Maddison’s pre-season injury and the exit of Son Heung-min. However, hopes are still high that new boss Thomas Frank’s man-management skills will help to get the best out of a talented squad which made up for a poor domestic campaign by lifting the Europa League trophy.
Winger Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha are eye-catching fresh faces and hosting promoted Burnley is a nice start.
Man City to win at Wolves @ 2/5
Suggesting that City’s 2024/25 campaign was a disaster is quite an exaggeration, even if they did end up trophyless. They finished third after picking up 19 points out of 21 in the run-in and also reached the FA Cup final.
Filling the hole left by Kevin De Bruyne’s departure is a challenge, but Pep Guardiola has fresh legs in Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri to help revitalise his squad. Vitor Pereira performed heroics in his first six months at Wolves, but this is a limited outfit.
Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace @ 8/13
On the back of adding the Club World Cup trophy to their Conference League success, Chelsea head into the new season with a ton of momentum. The Blues have again splashed the cash to sign Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Jorrel Hato and Brazilian winger Estevao Willian, so they will be expected to challenge for more silverware.
FA Cup winners Palace upset Liverpool in the Community Shield, but a tricky week has seen key players linked with moves elsewhere and demotion to the Conference League confirmed.
Arsenal to win at Man United @ 5/6
Having finished as runners-up for three straight seasons, the Gunners will be going all out to go one better this term. Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres could well prove the missing link up front, while Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Christian Norgaard are other smart recruits.
Crucially, Mikel Arteta has a settled way of doing things, whereas Ruben Amorim’s United system remains a work in progress. The Red Devils have strengthened well on paper, but doing it on the pitch is what matters and we’re happy to take them on in our Premier League acca tips.
