There is a large North London connection to the betting for the next permanent Real Madrid manager after Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino was made second favourite to get the job.

Julien Lopetegui was dismissed as the boss at the Bernabeu after only four and a half months at the helm while Pochettino watched his Spurs side slump to their third defeat of the season against Manchester City at Wembley on Monday night.

Having been chalked up as a 3/1 shot to jump ship to Real Madrid, Pochettino only has one candidate ahead of him the betting in the shape of former Blancos midfielder Santiago Solari.

Solari has been promoted to from the Madrid B team to take temporary charge of the first team and is the 8/13 odds-on favourite to get the job on a permanent basis.

Arsène Wenger meanwhile, who recently hinted he would soon be back in the dugout, is just 8/1 behind former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte (10/3).
