Patrik Berger: Ten Hag Isn't Right Man For Man United Job

After recent stumbles by Man United in their quest for Champions League football next season, former Liverpool stalwart Patrik Berger has weighed in on manager Erik ten Hag’s future at the club.

Berger, who is familiar with the Dutch coach, assessed Ten Hag’s suitability for the coveted job at Old Trafford, and highlighted the interesting pick of managers that could be available this summer.

Plus the former Czech Republic legend has suggested that one high-profile Man United loanee could have a future at the club if ten Hag leaves, gave his prediction for Arsenal v Bayern Munich in the Champions League and weighed in on Harry Kane’s impact in Germany.

Ten Hag Not The Right Man For Man United Job

I wouldn't keep Ten Hag if I was in charge of Manchester United. I think it is going to be a really interesting summer because you have Klopp leaving Liverpool, Xavi leaving Barcelona, Mauricio Pochettino might not keep his job and Manchester United might not keep their manager.

You could have four unbelievable clubs without managers. As a Liverpool fan, I would love to see them bring in someone even worse so it takes them longer to get back to our level!

I just don't think Ten Hag is the right man for the job, but I think with the new structure in place they will try to bring someone else in. I don't know what Gareth Southgate's deal is with the FA, but I do think he has done incredibly well for England.

I know him and he is a great man as well.

Jadon Sancho Might Have a Manchester United Career if They Get Rid of Ten Hag

I don't know what went wrong at Manchester United, but there are a few players who have reportedly fallen out with the manager. If you don't play regularly enough for such a long period, it is obvious you need time to build your confidence and remember how to play well.

He went back to Dortmund and he's done okay, but he is nowhere near the player that convinced Manchester United to pay all that money for him. I loved watching him play and I still think he is an exceptional footballer and an exceptional player.

I think he is waiting to see who will be the next manager of Manchester United, because I don't think Erik ten Hag will be in charge next season.

I think they will be looking for a new manager in the summer, which means Sancho might wait to see who is in charge before deciding his future. He will definitely do the pre-season with Manchester United in the summer though.

Arsenal Will Knock Bayern Munich Out of the Champions League

At this stage of the competition, anyone can win it and all of the teams that are left are genuinely good enough to beat anyone over a two-legged tie to reach the final at least. I wouldn't say Bayern are favourites therefore, but it is the only silverware they can win this season.

This is not something Bayern are used to over the last few decades, so this is the only chance which adds pressure. I just don't think they are the best side and I think Arsenal will knock them out when they play them.

Harry Kane Not At Fault For Bayern’s Poor Season

I think he will be surprised he hasn't won anything because he would have probably expected to lift something this season! When he signed, winning trophies at a club that size would have been a huge driving factor.

He has done his part this season however, he has got 31 goals and seven assists from just 27 Bundesliga games, so he has done everything he can to win the league there.

But I think the dressing room chemistry between the manager and the players is just off. When I was watching the game between them and Bayer Leverkusen, it was so clear all of the home players were playing for Xabi Alonso and they knew their roles.
