Paul Nicholls overtook Willie Mullins in the race for champion trainer at Ayr on Saturday after Vicente landed the Scottish National to provide the Ditcheat-based trainer with a fantastic big-money treble on the day.
Nicholls is now 5/6 from 5/1 to retain the championship at Sandown next Saturday whilst Willie Mullins, who was as short as 1/10 prior to Ayr today, has been eased to 5/6 leaving the race all to play for.
