The countdown is on to the latest round of voting in the Conservative Party leadership race and Rory Stewart is the candidate making his way through the field after he moved into joint second favourite on Wednesday.

The International Development Minister claimed on Wednesday morning that he was outpolling his rivals ‘with all the key target groups’ and urged Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove and Sajid Javid to drop out of the contest and allow him to take on Boris Johnson as the vote is put to party members in the final stage of the process.

Stewart was a massive outsider at 50/1 with us when the market opened but he has been steadily gaining support with punters, who have now backed him into 12/1.

Which makes him the joint second favourite alongside Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.""

Sajid Javid is the outsider of the remaining quintet at 66/1, with Michael Gove out at 16/1 after his support plummeted following revelations of previous drug use. Boris Johnson continues to be the man to beat at a red hot odds-on price of 1/8.
