Wallabies rated underdogs as first test looms
The British & Irish Lions are being well backed for a whitewash over the Wallabies as the countdown to this Saturday’s first test reaches its conclusion.
Despite setting off for the southern hemisphere off the back of a humbling defeat to Argentina in Dublin, Andy Farrell’s men have won all five warm-up matches since landing in Australia, including a 48-0 whitewash of the AUNZ Invitational XV in Adelaide last Saturday.
Now another shutout is being eyed by punters, who are snapping up odds of even money with BOYLE Sports that the tourists win the series 3-0.
Early Payout
The Lions will arrive at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane this weekend as hot 2/7 favourites to get the test trilogy off to a winning start, while the handicap betting suggests the hosts would require a 9-point start to get their noses in front.
BOYLE Sports will pay out on the Lions as winners of the first test if they go 17 points ahead at any stage, even if they go on to draw or lose in Brisbane.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“Punters will be roaring if the Lions remain dominant on tour because momentum is building behind a whitewash and 3-0 is now the most popular selection for the series score.”
