In this post, we take a look at the BoyleSports Irish Grand National favourite and betting ahead of Ireland’s most prestigious race at Fairyhouse.
BoyleSports Irish Grand National Favourite
Nick Rockett looks set to start as favourite for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National at 9/2 with the sponsors after 21 runners were confirmed for Easter Monday’s showpiece at Fairyhouse.
Willie Mullins, who told BoyleSports he “loves horses for courses” and singled out the novice as “one who does well round Fairyhouse,” is also represented by We’llhavewan (9/1) and Minella Cocooner (22/1) as he seeks a third win in the race following victories in 2019 for Burrows Saint and last year for I Am Maximus.
BoyleSports Irish Grand National Betting Favourites
Intense Raffles, who hails from the 2012 winning yard of Tom Gibney, is rated 6/1 second favourite ahead of Yeah Man. Leinster National winner Hartur D’arc is 14/1 while Ted Walsh’s veteran Any Second Now is now a 12/1 shot having been as big as 40/1 when antepost betting opened.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“It’s no surprise to see the Paul Townend and Willie Mullins combination so popular in the betting, but the BoyleSports Irish Grand National has thrown up a fairytale or two in the past and fan favourite Any Second Now would add another chapter after going so close at Aintree before.”
