Following a series of upsets last Sunday that made the road to the Super Bowl look a little less predictable, we’re hoping a trio of favoured teams can cover the handicap this Sunday in our NFL Week 7 predictions.
If all three selections land, the treble pays 6/1. A handicap such as Browns -2.5 means Cleveland need to win by three points or more.
Titans vs Browns
CLEVELAND BROWNS -2.5 POINTS TO WIN AT TENNESSEE TITANS @ 10/11
The Titans were one of the teams to upset the odds last Sunday when securing a first win of the season by beating the Indianapolis Colts 26-20 on the road. However, special teams played a big part in that success, with a blocked punt returned for a touchdown as Tennessee overcame a 13-0 half-time deficit, so we’re not prepared to forgive or forget their previous poor form.
Cleveland are far from a safe bet, but a rejuvenated Deshaun Watson is doing enough to capitalise on the work of a stellar defence. It isn’t always pretty, but his 33-yard completion to Jerry Jeudy set up the winning field goal in last Sunday’s 13-10 defeat of the Baltimore Ravens, which put the Browns on top of the AFC North table.

Jets vs Dolphins
NEW YORK JETS -4.5 POINTS TO BEAT MIAMI DOLPHINS @ 20/23
The Jets slipped to 2-4 after going down 26-19 away to the New England Patriots but there was a lot to like about the way they kept on battling after a tough first half. Aaron Glenn’s side has only lost to decent opponents and on the two occasions when they have been fancied to prevail, they thumped Tennessee 23-10 and beat the Browns 17-12.
Miami are 0-5 and come off a bye after a 31-24 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, so this has to be regarded as another good opportunity for the hard-working Jets to grind out a steady success on home turf.
Texans vs Giants
HOUSTON TEXANS -10.5 POINTS TO BEAT NEW YORK GIANTS @ 20/21
It goes against the grain to ask a team to give up this much of a start, but the Texans have built up some strong momentum by thrashing the Titans 26-3 in Tennessee and then securing a 34-31 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley.
That London clash felt like a high-quality contest and after bouncing back from an 0-4 start, Houston should still be hungry enough to complete a hat-trick of victories in emphatic fashion.
The Giants sit top of the NFC East at 3-2-1, but they have big questions at quarterback. After losing Jaxson Dart for the season, Jameis Winston was benched during last Sunday’s 34-27 home loss to the New Orleans Saints, and J.J. McCarthy makes his first Giants start here, so this is a bad time to be facing the fired-up Texans.
