The Broncos have made great progress in three years under head coach Sean Payton and were unlucky to lose QB Bo Nix to injury after storming to a 14-3 record last season and then edging out the Buffalo Bills in the play-offs. Subsequently losing 10-7 to the New England Patriots in a Denver blizzard will have hurt, but Payton was content to keep things simple over the summer and settle for continuity.
Having to visit the Kansas City Chiefs first up was unfortunate, as Arrowhead Stadium was jumping for the return from injury of Patrick Mahomes. Even so, that 31-10 loss was a really disappointing effort, with the offence never able to get going under new coordinator Davis Webb and some uncharacteristic missed tackles on defence allowing Kenneth Walker to rush for 173 yards for the Chiefs.
With Nix struggling throughout that contest, it may be a case of going back to the drawing board and relying on the ground game to try and get back on track. All things considered, we like 5/6 for this match to feature over 231.5 rushing yards across both teams combined.

The Jaguars made a miraculous leap from 4-13 in 2024 to 13-4 and an AFC South division title win last term, before narrowly losing out 27-24 to Buffalo in the Wild Card round. Jacksonville came in for criticism for allowing key starters such as RB Travis Etienne and LB Devin Lloyd to leave in free agency but went some way to silencing the doubters by comfortably brushing aside Cleveland 34-10 in Week 1.
Lawrence again illustrated how he has what it takes to become an elite-level QB by throwing four TD passes and, at 26, now really does look like the finished article. The Jaguars have a well-balanced and hungry supporting cast on both sides of the ball, with 24-year-old wide receiver Parker Washington one of those growing in stature all the time.
