In this post, we bring you next Tory leader betting tips plus all the latest odds after disastrous General Election results for the Conservative Party.
Next Tory Leader Betting Tips
Kemi Badenoch – Next Tory Leader Favourite
Kemi Badenoch is the 2/1 favourite with BoyleSports to be the leader of the opposition in the new parliament after Rishi Sunak confirmed plans to step down as Conservative Party leader following a bruising general election defeat.
Keir Starmer is set to take the reins in 10 Downing Street after Labour swept to a landslide victory, with several high-profile Tories including Liz Truss, Jacob Rees-Mogg and former leadership candidate Penny Mordaunt losing their seats.
Jeremy Hunt Sees Odds Slashed In Next Conservative Leader Race
Mordaunt has now been scratched from the betting on who will replace Rishi Sunak as party leader having been a prominent 7/1 shot, but Jeremy Hunt has made an eye-catching move into 7/1 from 50/1. The former Chancellor was one of the notable Tory candidates to hold on, winning his seat in Godalming and Ash by a slim majority of 891 votes.
Kemi Badenoch also saw her healthy majority from 2019 slashed to just 2,610 in North West Essex, but the former Business Secretary is considered a likely candidate in the leadership contest and leads the latest betting at 2/1.
Other Contenders To Become Next Tory Leader
Priti Patel (6/1) and Suella Braverman (8/1) are other potential runners from the right of the party, while Tom Tugendhat has been earmarked as a potential unity candidate and is currently rated 7/2 second favourite.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“Rishi Sunak wasted no time when firing the starting gun for potential Tory successors and plenty of candidates from the right of the party are prominent in the betting. Tom Tugendhat is still rated the most likely moderate, but Jeremy Hunt is the biggest market mover since the results landed after he clung on to his seat.”
