We have the Next Liverpool Managers odds and betting favourites for you as Klopp looks set to end his nine-year tenure at the club at the end of the season.

The football world was sent into chaos early on the morning of the 26th of January with the announcement that Jurgen Klopp would leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

In a video posted on the Liverpool website, the German admitted “he was running out of energy” and that he told the owners last November of his intention to leave the club in the Summer of 2024 despite having a contract until 2026.

Klopp has managed the club since 2016 winning the club their first-ever Premier League title during the 19/20 season, Klopp would also guide them to success in the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup throughout his tenure.

Now the decision-makers at the Merseyside club must turn their attention towards who they will select to replace Klopp in the dugout at Anfield. Below we preview the latest betting odds and analyse the chances of the top names in the next Liverpool manager odds.

Ruben Amorim – EVS

The latest favourite to replace Klopp in the Anfield dugout next season is current Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim at odds of Evens, which implies he has a 50% chance of being the next Liverpool manager.

Ruben looks to be the latest in the line of talented coaches destined for a move to "bigger and better things"  who at 39 has already been managing since 2018. Having started with Casa Pia he progressed managing Braga B and Braga before ultimately landing his current role in March 2020.

Since taking charge he would lead Sporting to their first league title in 19 years in the 20/21 season, he has also won Taça da Liga: 2020–21, and 2021–22 along with Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira: 2021.

This season they're having another brilliant season currently leading the Primeira Liga with 25 games played, they got knocked out of the Taça da Liga losing to Braga 1-0 in the Semi, and they're still in the Taça de Portugal Semi-Final stage where they hold a 2-1 lead over Benfica ahead of the second leg. They were also narrowly knocked out of the Europa League 3-2 on aggregate by Atlanta at the Round of 16 stage.

His management style is very similar to the other market leaders, known for his communication skills and tactical flexibility his sides primarily adopt a 3-4-3 which focuses on intense pressing. A Coach with an interesting CV and profile with a reported release clause of between £17-25 million he looks like a worthy market leader to land the role.

Xabi Alonso - 9/4

The man who was initially seen as the "heir" to the Klopp throne following the initial announcement Xabi Alonso has now seen his odds drift from 4/7 to 9/4 to land the role after he suggested he wishes to stay on with Bayern Leverkusen for another season.

The Liverpool cult hero (42) signed for the club in the 2004-2005 season completing five seasons at the club, playing over 200 times, winning 4 trophies including a Champions League before signing for Real Madrid.

His management career has been interesting of late, he started in the Real Madrid youth setup from 2018-2019 before taking the helm of Real Sociedad B from 2019-2022. However, he received his first proper breakthrough as a manager being appointed at Bayer Leverkusen in October  2022 guiding them to 6 th in the league and a Europa League Semi-Final.

The Alonso revolution has gone from strength to strength this season with the side currently top of the table 4 points clear of Bayern Munich with 18 games played in the league. It’s not just the results Alonso is getting, his side also plays attacking, possession-based football making him a good match for the Liverpool role.

The latest news of Alonso committing to Leverkusen for another amidst alleged interest from Bayern and Liverpool has people speculating that he is holding out for the Real Madrid role and so I think it's unlikely he's at Anfield next season.

Roberto De Zerbi - 3/1

With Klopp set to leave another name who we can expect to be widely touted for the Liverpool job is Roberto De Zerbi (44) at 3/1 which implies he has a 25% chance of being the next Liverpool manager.

Since joining Brighton following the departure of Graham Potter to Chelsea he has taken the club to another level qualifying them for Europe with a 6th place finish in the league and an FA Cup Semi-Finals place. During the summer of 2023, Brighton were gutted losing Alexis Mac Allister, Sanchez and Caicedo to clubs across the league and plenty were expecting the Brighton train to slow down this season.

Nevertheless, Brighton have remarkably picked up where they let off this season and De Zerbi deserves immense credit for how he has successfully managed his squad despite the added pressure of Europe and losing key players.  They even won their Europa League group with their 13-point total enough to finish above Marseille (11), Ajax (5) and AEK Athens (4). They would be knocked out at the Round of 16 stage after a 4-0 first-leg loss to Roma could not be overturned with them winning 1-0 at home in the reverse fixture.

A manager who would certainly impose the right style of play at Anfield and consolidate/build on the Klopp ideology, he is a very likely candidate for the role especially if Brighton free from the shackles of Europe climb the table in the coming weeks.

Julian Nagelsmann - 8/1

The fourth favourite to replace Klopp is Nagelsmann at 8/1 these odds imply he has an 11.1% chance of becoming the next Liverpool manager.

Nagelsmann who remarkably is still only (36) has already been in senior management for seven seasons having started at Hoffenheim back in 2016 at just 28 years of age. He quickly gained admirers for not only his results on the pitch bringing them from a relegation dog-fight to Champions League football but also his attractive pressing style of football.

He had two seasons at RB Leipzig where he similarly impressed before being announced as the Bayern Munich manager on the 27 th of April 2021 for a world-record fee for a manager €25 million

However, despite bringing them a Bundesliga and DFL Supercup in his first season, he was axed and replaced by Thomas Tuchel last season.

Nagelsmann recently took the German National Team job and ahead of Euro 2026 they've won 0-2 against France and 2-1 vs the Netherlands during the March friendlies. But could club management tempt him back in after Euro 2026? An interesting dimension to this is Klopp's link with the German National Team role in the future!

Straight swap anyone?

Pep Lijnders - 10/1

Following the shock announcement that Klopp is set to leave Liverpool come the end of the season, the third favourite to replace Klopp is assistant Pep Lijgners at odds of 10/1 which implies he has a 9.1% chance of being the next Liverpool manager.

This is despite the announcement that Pep Lijnders is also expected to leave the club at the end of the season alongside Klopp. Could it be a temporary departure before he rejoins the club permanently?

Pep is a very well thought of coach and is highly regarded in the club for his work under Klopp which has had him touted as a future replacement for Klopp. Despite that the 41-year-old has little Head Coach experience and so is an unlikely candidate.
