Next Chelsea Manager Betting Odds As Blues Sack Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea have sacked Thomas Tuchel this morning after Tuesday's night's shock Champions League defeat to at Dinamo Zagreb.

The Blues have spent hugely, in particular their defence, this summer, while also adding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their attack last week.

But it's been a below par start to the new season and new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has made his first sacking call of his reign in charge.

Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by Paris St Germain at the end of last season, was originally made favourite for the job after BoyleSports chalked the former Southampton and Tottenham manager up at 6/4 within minutes of news breaking from Stamford Bridge on Wednesday morning.

But Pochettino has already been leapfrogged in the betting by Graham Potter, who continues to impress during his tenure at Brighton. It's understood Chelsea have now approached the south coast club for talks with their manager.

The Seagulls currently sit two places and three points above Chelsea in the Premier League table and Potter was quickly cut into 1/2 from 2/1 after an early influx of speculation, a move which saw Pochettino eased to 9/4 second favourite.

Former Chelsea employee Brendan Rodgers is 7/1 third favourite as his Leicester future looks increasingly uncertain given their position at the bottom of the table, while Zinedine Zidane is also in the running at 8/1.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “With Mauricio Pochettino on the market it would appear to be a straightforward appointment for Chelsea, so we made him favourite for the job right away.

"But the early money is going down on Graham Potter instead and we have had to go odds-on at 1/2 from 2/1 already, so he’s in pole position for the hotseat.”
