Falmouth Stakes Betting Tips
The betting for the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket is all one-way traffic according to bookmaker BoyleSports, who reports that liabilities are building on the even-money favourite Porta Fortuna.
Irish horses hold a strong hand in the fillies’ feature on day two of the July meeting with the Donnacha O’Brien-trained three-year-old a well-backed market leader at even money from 6/4.
A gutsy performance at Royal Ascot saw Porta Fortuna fend off the challenge of the Ballydoyle-trained Opera Singer to claim a second Group One of her career, having finished a close second in both the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and in Newmarket’s 1,000 Guineas.
Fellow Royal Ascot scorer Running Lion, who landed the Duke of Cambridge, is next in the betting at 3/1 but has been easy to back having opened at 5/2, while the Paddy Twomey-trained A Lilac Rolla has also been weak in the betting at 6/1 (from 9/2).

July Cup Betting Tips
With Saturday’s July Cup the centrepiece of the three-day meeting, Inisherin is likely to start favourite for the festival feature. The Kevin Ryan-trained colt is two from two since reverting to sprinting and is the current 9/4 market leader with Mill Stream seeing each-way support for Jane Chapple-Hyam at 11/1 having touched 16/1.
