Newcastle v Brighton Preview
Newcastle’s Form
Since the Saudi takeover, the rise in the club's stature has been constant albeit slower than City’s previous rise (due to PSR Rules). Last season they were consistent across competitions being competitive in the Champions League “Group of Death” finishing 7th in the league and reaching the Quarter-Finals in both the EFL and FA Cup.
This season they’ve continued their upward trajectory with another EFL Cup Final to play next month against Liverpool. This will be their second EFL Cup Final of the last three seasons. They’re currently sixth in the Premier League and contention for another positive campaign and have safely navigated their opening two FA Cup games.
24/25 FA Cup Run
Third Round – Newcastle 3-1 Bromley
Fourth Round – Birmingham City 2-3 Newcastle
Newcastle’s last trophy was their 2006 Intertoto Cup, but I don’t believe it will be another two decades before their next success.

Brighton’s Form
Brighton reached the Europa League Round of 16 stage last season, but the extra games put a strain on their squad, and they fell to 11th in the league. However, with them unburdened by Europe this season as well as €231.20m spent (only less than Chelsea) they were always going to be well placed to improve across league and domestic competitions this season.
Brighton are having another positive season by all accounts and despite their recent 7-0 battering at the hands of Nottingham Forrest, they’ve bounced back with four successive wins in all competitions in recent weeks scoring eleven goals and conceding only two. They’re well on course for European Football next season with them currently eighth in the Premier League only one point back of Newcastle in sixth.
24/25 FA Cup Run
Third Round – Norwich City 0-4 Brighton
Fourth Round – Brighton 2-1 Chelsea
Always a tactically tricky side to play, Brighton will be looking to have their best run in the FA Cup since coming runners-up in the 82/83 season.
Brighton’s Last Five Results
Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth | February 25th | Win
Southampton 0-4 Brighton | February 22nd| Win

Key Players To Watch
Alexander Isak - Newcastle
In the Blue and Black corner is the man known as the “New Zlatan” (25) and one of the most potent finishers in the Premier League and as his nickname suggests also has the skill and holding-the-ball-up ability of his legendary compatriot.
This season he has continued his flying form from last year with 21 goals and 5 assists in 30 games. He is 7/2 to score first in this game and 10/11 to score anytime.
Isak first goal - 7/2
Danny Welbeck- Brighton
The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker is still going strong at the ripe old age of 34 having made his Premier League debut over sixteen years ago.
This year he has continued to be effective in front of goal scoring 7 times and 4 times across 24 games in all competitions. He is 15/2 to score first here and 9/4 to score at any time.
Welbeck any time goal - 9/4
Newcastle v Brighton Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Brighton
Eddie Howe has done an excellent job at Newcastle and in particular has made them competitive in cup competitions again for which he deserves huge credit.
Brighton are arguably the best-run club in the Premier League and have a squad of players capable of competing against anyone on their day.
This is a tricky tie to predict but I think Newcastle should have just the edge especially if Isak returns to the side.
Best Bet: Newcastle @ 21/20
Newcastle - 21/20
