New Year’s Day ITV Racing Tips from Cheltenham, Musselburgh & Windsor…

We’re looking to start 2026 with a bang via our New Year’s Day ITV racing tips from the meetings at Cheltenham , Musselburgh and Windsor .

The Grade Two Relkeel Hurdle at Prestbury Park headlines a magnificent seven contests on the box and here are our selections for each event:

CHELTENHAM 13:25 – JASMIN DE GRUGY

Joe Tizzard is enjoying an excellent campaign and this progressive six-year-old has shown a fine attitude to bag an Exeter double.

That was Jasmin De Grugy ’s fourth success from just six starts over fences and he may still have the scope to cope with another 7lb uplift.

MUSSELBURGH 13:40 – WISE EAGLE

Adam Nicol ’s popular veteran recently had a nice warm-up spin on the Flat to blow away any cobwebs and can make a successful switch back to the jumping game.

Five of Wise Eagle ’s 14 career strikes under both codes have come at the Edinburgh track and he has repeatedly proven he can carry big weights to victory.

CHELTENHAM 14:00 – GLENGOULY

Having now found his feet with Lambourn handler Faye Bramley , the ex- Willie Mullins inmate bids for back-to-back victories at the home of National Hunt racing.

Glengouly was a 33/1 shot when making all to land the December Gold Cup but there did not appear to be any fluke about that performance and he is worth sticking with, especially as Sean Bowen will be in the saddle again.

MUSSELBURGH 14:15 – JET TO VEGAS

Twice a scorer last term, he can hopefully make it third time lucky this season following a couple of decent seconds at Perth and Ascot .

CHELTENHAM 14:35 – KABRAL DU MATHAN

Runner-up in the Scottish Champion Hurdle last season for Paul Nicholls , he made an impressive stable debut for the Skelton team when romping home by 12 lengths at Haydock .

Second-placed Andashan has since franked the form by scoring at Newbury and Kabral Du Mathan is taken to continue his progress in the Grade Two Dornan Engineering Relkeel Hurdle .

WINDSOR 14:50 – HARTINGTON

Joe Tizzard ’s charge made a winning start to his campaign at Carlisle before picking up the silver medal in a strong Grade Three event over three miles at Haydock and a drop back in trip looks a smart move.

Hartington to win 14:50 Windsor

CHELTENHAM 15:10 – ACE OF SPADES

Kept on well at Aintree in late October to make it four wins from 11 starts under rules and then again performed with credit when fourth of 17 in a hot Haydock handicap, so can take full advantage of this slight ease in class.
