There’s little chance the SPFL title will be residing in Aberdeen after all is said and done this season in Scotland.

That’s according to former star Celtic player and manager Neil Lennon who has given The Reds as little as a 1% chance of winning the title.

Lennon also played down talk of a move to Celtic for a current Man United midfielder asking whether he would even get in the side. Plus he assesses the form of two of the club’s top performers this season.

1% Chance Aberdeen Win Scottish Premier League Title

Q: You previously gave Aberdeen a 5% chance of winning the title, what would it be now?

When I said Aberdeen had a 5% chance of winning the title I was being generous, now I’d give them a 1% chance.

That’s all down to just how strong Celtic are. Aberdeen had a brilliant start to the season and it was always going to be difficult for them to maintain that sort of consistency.

They’ve lost a game and had a couple of draws which isn’t terrible, it’s just how strong the competition is on this occasion. Celtic are four clear with a game in hand which could be seven on Wednesday.

This Celtic squad is a level above what it has been in the past, one of the strongest squads for a long time. They have invested heavily and maybe it’s unfortunate for Aberdeen that they’ve come up against this particular team.

Jimmy Thelin has done an incredible job and you wouldn’t rule them out winning games consistently for the rest of the season, but winning the title is an impossible task now.

*Aberdeen are 25/1 to win this season’s SPFL Premiership .

Aberdeen v Celtic Prediction

Q: Will Celtic lay down a marker against Aberdeen on Wednesday?

Celtic already laid down a marker in the League Cup semi-final by winning 6-0, and have just beaten Ross County 5-0 with five different scorers.

It’s incredible the talent that Brendan Rodgers has at his disposal at the moment and although they will hope to win comfortably, it won’t be an easy game especially on a Wednesday night with an atmosphere under the lights.

I could see a 2-0 win for Celtic, they’ll have to do their best to quieten the crowd and they can do that by keeping possession. There are goals in all areas going forward too so you’d expect a couple of goals.

Neil Lennon’s Prediction: Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

This Man United Star Might Struggle To Get Into Current Celtic Team

Q: Would you like to see Christian Eriksen at Celtic?

With the talent Celtic have at their disposal at the moment, I’m not sure that Christian Eriksen would get into the team.

He is a classy player and always has been, but I’m not sure who he would come in to replace. You’d have to consider the wages he’d want as well. I can’t see it happening and I’m not sure it would suit the club at the moment.

Assessment of Celtic’s Leading Lights This Season

Q: How impressed have you been with Luke McCowan?

Luke McCowan has really impressed me. He is chipping in with goals and looks comfortable in the team, he’s a reliable squad player and has shown his maturity as well as his footballing brain.

He has been a great signing as one that came in under the radar, he could have a big future at the club.

Q: How has Adam Idah played so far this season?

Adam Idah has been great. You know that when Brendan Rodgers needs him to start he will be a physical presence being strong and fast as well as being able to score.

He understands his role in the squad and knows he will be important going forward, he scored a beauty at the weekend and I really like him as a player.

I think he has been a very good signing and will still get better, there is more to come at 23 years old and he is in the perfect environment to develop.

People talk about the fee but I wouldn’t be concerned about that, he’s proven to have been a very good bit of business.
