Dublin GAA legend Diarmuid Connolly believes Derry are good value to win the National Football League Division 2 title after they were promoted from Division 3 last season.

The six-time All-Ireland winner was speaking to Leon Blanche of BoyleSports ahead of the new GAA season kicking off.

Derry Going Close
He said:

Derry had a huge year last year coming up from Division 3 and played some serious football.""

"They went close against Donegal in the Ulster Senior Football Championship.

“Derry didn’t win anything, but they are building a lovely squad and I know a few of the players very well in that team.

"The Oak Leaf County will be hoping to get a good run at this National Football league and hit the ground running.

? "They had a huge year last year & there's huge value in them to win it this year!"

Other Contenders
“Galway have come down from Division 1 after a stop-start season last year and they had a few bad injuries.

"Cork had a poor season last year and you have Roscommon back in Division 2 with Offaly coming up from Division 3 and Clare just hanging on."

Value
"For me I just think there is huge value in this Derry side at 9/2 to win the Division 2 league this year."
