Willie Mullins is winning the battle in the betting to be crowned king of Cheltenham next week as he has been backed into odds-on to beat Gordon Elliott to the top trainer title.

The Closutton-based trainer, who has favourites Benie Des Dieux and Al Boum Photo amongst his team set to go to post,

now leads the betting at 4/6 to finish the festival as the trainer with most winners after being backed in from his original price of 11/10.""

Gordon Elliott, who will be hoping to be in the winners’ enclosure with the likes of Tiger Roll and Delta Work, is Mullins’ closest rival in the betting but he has been eased in the market to 5/2 from 15/8 just days before the off.

Seven Barrows handler Nicky Henderson will be hoping to score over his Irish rivals via 15/8 Champion Chase favourite Altior and he is 9/2 third favourite to end the week having won back the bragging rights for the home contingent.
