Miriam O’Callaghan has been backed into the stand-alone favourite to be the next President of Ireland as speculation ramps up that she is set to run for the Áras.

Ambiguous statements about her plans this week have done nothing to quell the rumours that she will stand, while another presidential hopeful Gerard Craughwell, who is a 33/1 shot to succeed Michael D. Higgins, called on the broadcaster and any other candidates to declare their intentions.
