Conor McGregor is being backed to get his own back on Dustin Poirier after a trilogy fight between the old rivals was agreed.

Multiple reports at the weekend reported that

Poirier has now put pen to paper on his contract for the contest at UFC 264,""

...while McGregor took to Twitter on Saturday to confirm the fight has been booked in for July 10th.

Both camps were keen to renew rivalries after one victory each in their two previous bouts and Irish punters are getting behind a reverse in form after McGregor sank to his fifth career defeat at the UFC 257 clash between the pair in January.

The Dubliner had taken just 106 seconds to see off his American opponent when they first met in Las Vegas in 2014 and he has already been backed into 4/7 from 4/5 with BoyleSports to put things right now that the trilogy bout has been given the green light. The rivalry is also expected to be settled before the full five rounds at a red hot 1/4 from 1/3 not to go the distance.

Poirier, who has reportedly shunned a fight for the vacant UFC lightweight title in favour of facing McGregor again, is likely to enter the Octagon as underdog having already being eased to 11/8 from 6/5
