Punters Predict Permanent Appointment After Rangers Win
Martin O’Neill is now the favourite to be appointed the Celtic manager on a permanent basis following the latest betting moves with BOYLE Sports.
O’Neill took over as caretaker boss following the shock departure of Brendan Rodgers last week and oversaw a league win against Falkirk before guiding his side to the final of the Scottish League Cup with an extra-time victory over arch rivals Rangers on Sunday.
Ange Still A Contender
But a more permanent stay is now being backed, with O’Neill now a 5/2 shot (from 7/1) to be kept on and add to the five-year stint in the Celtic dugout already on his CV from 2000-2005.
Another former Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou remains a key contender according to the oddsmakers at 5/1, while Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is rated 4/1 second favourite.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports said:
"Martin O’Neill’s return to the Celtic dugout has clearly struck a chord with supporters and back-to-back wins have seen his odds tumble to make the role his on a more permanent basis. ”
