Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains bookies’ favourite to land the role
BOYLE Sports has slashed the odds on Scott Rose-Marsh donning Hollywood’s most famous tux into just 12/1 (from 50/1) after reports that the Code of Silence actor has screen tested to replace Daniel Craig.
A rising star in film and television, Rose-Marsh was allegedly tasked with reading Pierce Brosnan’s lines from the 1995 Bond classic, Golden Eye, triggering punters to back the 37-year-old ahead of the next instalment of the blockbuster franchise.
Cavill A Contender
Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains a red-hot 4/5 favourite however, having long been rumoured to be the first choice of the Bond 26 producers, with Henry Cavill also in the running at 11/4 to swap Superman’s cape for the high-flying life of the world’s most famous spy.
Callum Turner, who marked the beginning of the summer by getting engaged to pop royalty Dua Lipa, is also among the frontunners for the role, but James Norton, who continues to play down Bond links, has seen his odds drift to 14/1 (from 8/1).
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains the likeliest star to don the famous tux, but the betting has been shaken up once again. Punters have spied an opportunity and a gamble is really starting to snowball on Scott Rose-Marsh being a surprise appointment at MI6.”
