Wayne Rooney appeared as a guest star on this week’s Monday Night Football alongside fellow scouser Jamie Carragher talking Everton, Manchester United and the weekend's action, and Rooney didn’t disappoint.

Carra Dig
Wayne took no time in taking a dig at Carragher who he is no stranger to after battling it out many times on the pitch, and after being introduced he expressed his delight to be part of the panel.

"To be honest this is probably the closest Carra ever got to me so I'm sure he'll enjoy it as well." Rooney did later in the show say Carragher was one of the toughest opponents he’s faced.

Rooney received praise from the whole football world and even from Carragher himself on his personal Twitter account.

X Factor Row
Rooney had lots to say and told a story from his time at Manchester United about an away trip where he had an argument with Roy Keane that has everyone talking.

He and Roy had an argument over the X Factor; yes it’s no lie, two professional footballers had an argument over X Factor.

Rooney said, “We were watching the rugby before we were playing Newcastle United away and he went to get some food, so I put the X Factor on and I hid the remote. He wasn't happy about it and we had an argument.”

Rooney said this made Keane respected him more after this. This certainly proved to be a funny story for Wayne to share on MNF which went down a treat with the viewers.

Everton Return
Rooney also opened up about his return to his boyhood club last Summer and he said, "I think it was the perfect move for me at this stage of my career. Everton was the right move, it just felt right and I always knew in the back of my head that I wanted to go back there.”

Rooney praised Big Sam but also said they haven’t been too good as of late but he’s happy enough with the position they’ve taken up in the league.

The Future
Wayne was a pleasure to watch on MNF and while finishing up stated, “I'd like to go into management, I've been involved in football for my whole life and that's what I know and would like to continue to do. I'm sure I'll do a lot more TV work in the future but my ultimate aim is to go into football management.”

I'm sure we’ll all tune in whenever you do more TV work Wayne as you put a smile on everyone’s face on MNF this week.
