As speculation continues to swirl around two of Liverpool’s star players, Teddy Sheringham has raised concerns about the club’s future.

In an exclusive interview with BoyleSports, the former England striker shares his thoughts on Mohamed Salah’s possible departure and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s rumoured move to Real Madrid.

Sheringham was frank in his assessment of what the future holds for the two Liverpool superstars and sheds light on each player's motivations to push for a move away from Anfield. He also claims that the Premier League title race is not over yet, despite the Merseyside club’s 6-point lead and game in hand, as Liverpool ‘have a slip-up in them’.

Salah’s Future At Anfield

Q: Do you expect to see Mohamed Salah leave Liverpool this summer?

I think Mohamed Salah is behaving as if he’s giving notice that he is gone at the end of the season. From what he has said in interviews I’ll be very very surprised if he turns around and signs a new contract now.

But he's enjoying what he's doing for one last season, the way I see it is that it should just be enjoyed by both the player and the club to make the most of it.

I think it’s the right time, football takes a toll on your body when you come up to the age of 33 and the demands of playing week in week out become much harder.

He might fancy going over and playing in Saudi and becoming a hero and a legend over there. He could still win the next Ballon d’Or but that’ll all be down to what he wins.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Madrid Bound?

Q: Do you expect to see Trent at Real Madrid next season? Does he look distracted?

I expect to see Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid next season and I think that has become a distraction.

*Trent Alexander-Arnold is 7/2 to sign for Real Madrid in the January Transfer Window per the latest football odds at BoyleSports.

All the speculation is a distraction with everyone talking about its and buts. I think it will be sorted out very quickly with an announcement and that will stop the confusion.

Q: Will Liverpool fans have a right to be upset?

Some Liverpool fans will be disappointed if he leaves but you’re never going to please everyone. Some fans will be pleased for him and want him to enjoy himself at Real Madrid and others will be shaking their heads and won’t believe he is doing it.

He has to do whatever feels right and we’ll have to wait and see.

Premier League Title Race: ‘Liverpool Still Have A Slip-up In Them’

Q: Is the title race already over?

The title race is still hanging in the balance. When Manchester City were winning titles you couldn’t see them being caught because of how they approach games, but I think Liverpool have a slip-up in them.

*Liverpool are 1/4 favourites to win the title per the latest Premier League odds at BoyleSports.

Apart from Mohamed Salah, their finishers miss a lot of chances which allows other teams to get back into games. I think there is hope for the chasing pack because of that.

Arsenal are the main challengers and they have a reason to be positive, they have a bit of catching up to do but it’s not over yet.

*Arsenal are Liverpool’s nearest rivals in the Premier League betting market at 9/2 to win the title.

*Prices are subject to fluctuation.
