Wales will expect to move level with non-playing North Macedonia on 13 points by beating Liechtenstein at the Rheinpark Stadion on Saturday. Belgium are a point clear at the summit and firm favourites to finish top of Group J, but the battle for second place looks set to go to the wire.

Macedonia hold that position but have played a game more than Wales, and, with the two nations facing each other in a Cardiff finale next week, Craig Bellamy’s side will be desperate not to suffer an embarrassing - and potentially costly - slip-up in Vaduz.

Wales are assured a play-off spot due to their Nations League success, but finishing second in Group J would mean they avoid being among the bottom seeds. Liechtenstein, the lowest-ranked European team behind San Marino, are sure to finish bottom. They have zero points and zero goals from their six qualifiers and have shipped 15 goals in their last three outings.

Wales claimed a 3-0 win when the two met at Cardiff City Stadium in June, and a similar outcome would suit them down to the ground. The Dragons are 8/15 to win with over 3.5 goals in total, and that is our prediction in our Liechtenstein vs Wales betting tips.

Unsurprisingly, Wales have a 100 per cent record from their four previous meetings with Liechtenstein.

Goals from Joe Rodon, Harry Wilson and Kieffer Moore secured the spoils this summer, while the Welsh earned two 2-0 victories during qualification for Euro 2010 - captain Bellamy seeing his penalty saved in Cardiff.

The previous meeting saw Wales run out 4-0 friendly winners in Wrexham in 2006, with Bellamy getting on the scoresheet on that occasion.

Liechtenstein had looked to be making some progress in 2024 after claiming one win - over Hong Kong - and four draws in 10 matches. That may not sound great, but for a nation who had lost 29 of 30 fixtures between 2021 and 2023, the other being a draw with Armenia, it was heady days.

Unfortunately for Europe's fourth-smallest country, 2025 has reverted to type, and they host Wales, having lost all eight matches this year by a combined 29-1 scoreline, although that one goal did come in their last match when they were denied a friendly draw against Montenegro by an 88th-minute winner.

If you fancy a huge upset in Vaduz, then you can get 50/1 for a home win, or 20/1 for a draw, in the Liechtenstein vs Wales odds.

Wales Form Guide

Wales enjoyed a flying start under Bellamy but have found life a bit more tricky in recent times, albeit against a higher class of opponent than most of their previous outings under the new boss. Of their last five games, Wales have lost 4-3 and 4-2 to Belgium, 3-0 to England and 1-0 to Canada, with their only win being a 1-0 success in Kazakhstan.

The Welsh should get back to winning ways in Vaduz, though, as they gear up for their Macedonia showdown. Germany, Croatia and the Netherlands are among the World Cup hopefuls we are looking at from Friday's qualifiers in our latest European football tips.
