15 celebs battle it out for Strictly Come Dancing crown
Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope is the early 10/3 favourite with BOYLE Sports for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after the 15 celebs were revealed for the ballroom bonanza.
The hit BBC show is expected to get underway on September 20 th , and savvy bettors are already backing Cope to light up the dancefloor. Odds of 4/1 quickly disappeared as punters latched onto the soap star’s years of dancing experience, with the Woolpack regular even competing in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in 2013.
While Cope has experience in abundance, he will face some stiff competition with Dani Dyer (4/1) earmarked as one of his biggest rivals. The West Ham WAG will be hoping to go one better than fellow Love Islander Tasha Ghouri, who finished runner-up on last year’s show.
Model and Malory Towers actress Ellie Goldstein (4/1) is also among the frontrunners to make a splash this year, but it’s the sports stars that look likely to be red-carded early. Former Premier League star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is among the outsiders at odds of 25/1 to showcase the fancy footwork he showed on the pitch on the dancefloor, while ex-England rugby captain Chris Robshaw will have to overcome odds of 33/1 to lift this year’s trophy.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“The celebs are yet to take to the dancefloor, but plenty of punters are casting an early vote. Love Island winner Dani Dyer is a popular pick, but it’s Lewis Cope that’s fancied follow in the footsteps of fellow Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and lift the Glitterball.”
