Draw @ 11/4

St Patrick’s Athletic came from behind to defeat Dundalk at Oriel Park last time out to win 1-2 where ironically Eoin Kenny opened the scoring for Dundalk against the club his father was managing. They’ve now 8 points from their last 4 league games and look to be well in line to make a final dash for Europe in the final few weeks of the season.
Waterford ironically also had their last league game against Dundalk where they won by the same 2-1 scoreline albeit they were at home. That win ended the rut of poor results and keeps them well in the conversation for Europe in the coming weeks of the season. However, their major cause for concern is still the absence of Sam Sargeant in goal which makes them far weaker in defence.
Prediction: St Patrick’s Athletic 1-0 Waterford
This is genuinely a huge game in the context of the European race and the game could honestly go either way. However, I think the home side should have the edge here and a win here blows the race even wider open.
Best Bet: St Patrick’s Athletic ‘@ 4/5

Galway came undone to Shamrock Rovers on Monday Night following a Garry Buckley 84th-minute own goal, that proved the difference maker which handed the Dublin outfit a huge boost in their quest to make a late descent up the league table. While they’ve fallen to 6 th place they have a 4-point safety net over St Patrick’s Athletic directly below them.
Shelbourne supporters are living in the paradoxical state of knowing that at the start of the season, nobody expected a title challenge and yet with just 6 points in their last 5 league games and an FAI Cup elimination there is a sense that they could be sleepwalking their way to a trophyless season if they can’t stand up and be counted for the closing weeks of the season. Shades of Cork City post Seani Maguire in 2017.
Prediction: Galway United 1-1 Shelbourne
Galway are a tough nut to crack at home even if they lost to Shamrock Rovers at Eamonn Deacy Park on Monday. Shelbourne are not plucking up trees either at the moment and I’m not sure they have it mentally in them to get the win here.

The Derry double is very much on the cards following their recent 2-0 FAI Cup Quarter-Final win over fellow title rivals Shelbourne on Saturday. Though a Cup success seems more than possible their 5 points from their last 5 league games has shown a frailness in their squad and they now trail Shelbourne by 4 points at this crucial juncture a loss here would mean Shamrock Rovers would only be 1 point behind them.
Shamrock Rovers' late victory over Galway on Monday Night means that they’ve plugged themselves back into the title picture seemingly out of nowhere despite being less than impressive in the league this season. The one thing that may stop them in the end is balancing domestic with Conference commitments in their last 4/5 games.
Prediction: Derry City 0-2 Shamrock Rovers
This is a huge game for both sides with a win huge for either side with a loss detrimental to both sides' chances at title glory. However, I think Rovers’ have come on in recent games and I think they will win this.
Best Bet: Shamrock Rovers @ 23/10

Bohemians v Drogheda– Friday 7.45 pm, LOI TV
Odds
Bohemians @ 8/13
Drogheda @ 7/2
Draw @ 14/5
Preview
Bohemians despite not being out of the relegation playoff picture in recent weeks their 5 points accumulated in their last 5 games have been enough to keep them 8 points clear of Drogheda directly above them who they have a game in hand over also. If they can bring their 0-4 FAI Quarter-Final win over UCD to the final few weeks their season might end quite positively.
Drogheda’s latest 1-4 win over Athlone booked their place in the FAI Cup Semi-Finals in the coming weeks. However, the league is always a club's bread and butter and with them in the playoff relegation spot and only 1 ahead of Dundalk there is work to do yet for them to reach safety. However, a shock win would put them only 5 behind Bohemians directly above them.
Prediction: Bohemians 1-1 Drogheda
Two FAI Cup Semi-Finalists, but both aren’t out of the relegation conversation. A win for Bohemians would probably put them safe but I can see this being a scored draw and that’s likely to be enough too. This is a must-win for Drogheda.

John Russell deserves immense plaudits for the job he has done this season with one of the youngest squads in the division, one of the least resourced clubs in the Premier Division given they’re fan-owned and dealing with injury issues a plenty at times. Despite that and pressure occasionally coming on him they’re 5th and in the conversation for Europe albeit they have lost 3 of their last 5 league games.
What a week it has been for Dundalk! The club went from financial issues to being on the brink of liquidation in the last few weeks before finding new investors into the club which has ensured their status as a club for at least the close of the season. Though that was the main thing for supporters, relegation could still loom but a few points to close the season and safety could make them a far more attractive investment for the 24/25 season.
Prediction: Sligo Rovers 2-1 Dundalk
Sligo Rovers will fancy this game even if Dundalk players and supporters could be in a buoyant move following the week that was in it. I still reckon the home side are more reliable for a result.
Best Bet: Sligo Rovers @ 5/6
