With darts fans flocking to Leicester for the 2025 BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix, we’re taking a look at the leading contenders chasing the £120,000 winner’s prize.
The unusual ‘double in, double out’ format has helped to produce some unexpected champions, and last year’s shock victor Mike De Decker is 50/1 to retain his title at Mattioli Arena.
However, the star names still shine more often than not, with Phil Taylor enjoying a record 11 outright triumphs, and these are the favourites this time around:

Luke Littler
LUKE LITTLER @ 2/1
It has been an incredible year for The Nuke, who became the youngest World Championship winner just prior to his 18th birthday and has since gone on to secure UK Open and World Matchplay titles, as well as reaching the Premier League final.
Littler’s opponents will be hoping that the recent release of FC26 has been a distraction, and he did fall at the first hurdle in this event 12 months ago when beaten by Rob Cross, but the Warrington wizard is still rated the man to beat if avoiding any early hiccups this time.
Luke Humphries
LUKE HUMPHRIES @ 11/2
If it is horses for courses that you like, Cool Hand Luke has already proven he can cope with the unique demands of this tournament, lifting the trophy in 2023 and making it all the way through to the decider last year.
With World Masters and Premier League victories added to his CV already in 2025, Humphries ticks plenty of boxes.
Gerwyn Pric
GERWYN PRICE @ 10/1
Despite a second-round exit last year, The Iceman is another player with strong BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix form, having prevailed in 2020 and finished runner-up in 2021 and 2023.
Yet to land a major title this season, but did pick up a televised win at the Poland Darts Masters in July. Some will believe the Price is right at double-figure odds.
Michael Van Gerwen
MICHAEL VAN GERWEN @ 10/1
Mighty Mike is second only to Taylor in terms of World Grand Prix success, having lifted this trophy for the sixth time in 2022, so we know the unique format won’t faze him.
The Dutchman sent the home crowd wild when he beat Littler 11-7 in last month’s World Series of Darts final in Amsterdam to pick up his first televised title in two years, declaring: “I love what I do. I hope this is the beginning of a lot more.”
Josh Rock
JOSH ROCK @ 10/1
Rocky is very much a player on the rise after reaching the UK Open and World Matchplay semi-finals, as well as clinching a first World Cup crown for Northern Ireland alongside Daryl Gurney. He showed his well-being by reaching a Players Championship final in Leicester on Wednesday.
Stephen Bunting
STEPHEN BUNTING @ 14/1
The Bullet is having a solid season in major events, making the last four of the World Championships and the quarter-finals of the World Masters and the World Matchplay. Despite two appearances in the semis at this tournament, his overall World Grand Prix record is moderate, though, going out in round one or two on eight occasions.
Jonny Clayton
JONNY CLAYTON @ 20/1
The Ferret has been knocking on the door at the big events this year, reaching World Masters and World Cup finals, as well as the last four of the UK Open and the World Matchplay. He is also a past BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix champion, thrashing Price 5-1 in the 2021 decider.
