Kerry v Dublin Preview
Kerry’s Form
Kerry in 2024 initially finished third in Division 1 of the National Football League, behind Derry on twelve points and only missed out on second spot and a place in the final due to Dublin having ten points and a points difference of +49 to their +11. They won the Munster Championship after defeating Clare in the final 1-13 to 0-23.
At the All-Ireland stage, they topped their group ahead of Louth, Monaghan and Meath with three wins from three games to book their place in the Quarter-Final. They then dispatched Derry beating them 0-15 to 0-10. However, their challenge came undone to eventual All-Ireland Champions Armagh losing 1-18 to 1-16 after extra time in the All-Ireland Semi-Finals.
They’re expected to right that wrong this year though with Kery currently installed as the 11/4 favourite to win the 2025 All-Ireland Football Championship. Kerry opened their campaign with a thrilling win over Derry at Celtic Park in a 1-24 to 5-15 scoreline but more recently they lost last weekend to Donegal 1-18 to 0-23.
Dublin’s Form
During Division 1 last year, Dublin initially finished in second place two points behind Derry but ahead of Kerry by points difference to book their place in the National Football League Final. In the final, they drew in Dublin 2-21 to 3-18 against Derry before losing out narrowly on penalties 1-3. They then continued their Leinster Championship dominance winning 1-19 to 2-12 against Louth in the final.
At the All-Ireland stage, they topped their group ahead of Mayo, Roscommon and Cavan with two wins and one draw from three games to book their place in the Quarter-Final. However, they were then shockingly dumped out of the All-Ireland when they lost out to eventual losing finalists Galway 0-16 to 0-17.
Dublin opened their 2025 league campaign with a 1-17 to 1-15 win over Mayo at Croke Park but that was followed by a 0-20 to 0-16 defeat against Donegal. Their stock might’ve fallen in the last 12 months, but they’re still expected to be thereabouts for All-Ireland glory in the summer currently priced at 10/3 second favourites only behind Kerry.
Kerry v Dublin Rivalry.
Both sides played each other for the first time in 1893 with Dublin winning 1-4 to 0-3 in the All-Ireland Final. Since then this has become one of the biggest rivalries in Gaelic Games with both sides dubbed the “Big Two” due to them winning 67 All-Ireland Championships between them to date.

Despite the Dubs falling to a defeat against Donegal last time out, one man who can’t be blamed for the defeat is Castleknock Centre-Forward Ciaran Kilkenny (31) who has sensationally been playing inter-county football since 2012 and is still on his A game. His tally against Donegal last time out was (1 2pt).

Kerry v Dublin Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Kerry 1-17 Dublin 0-16
Kerry look to be the team to beat this year despite their loss to Donegal early days and their record at home is always strong which is why they go into this game as strong favourites.
The Dubs have plenty to prove, but I do believe that they have a better chance of success than the odds market suggests.
Kerry to win in the end, but I don’t think it will be by much.
