Joe Biden looks certain to go into election day in the United States in two weeks’ time as odds-on favourite to end Donald Trump’s reign in the White House.

The Democratic challenger enjoys a double-digit lead over Trump in the nationwide opinion polls and any significant bets being placed on the outcome are also going in his direction.

We eased Biden slightly over the weekend to 8/13 from 4/9, but he still maintains the favourite tag with Trump a 6/4 shot from 7/4 for four more years as President.""

The Democrats will be wary of the polls after Hillary Clinton’s lead in 2016 came to nothing, but punters are certainly confident in Biden’s chances of avoiding another shock result.

Any significant stakes are favouring him and while he won’t be as strong a favourite as Clinton, it is going to take another upset to deny him.

Biden’s favouritism is backed up by his odds-on chances in three key swing states, with Michigan, Pennsylvania (both 1/3) and Wisconsin (10/3) all strongly backed to go his way despite Trump claiming narrow victories in all three in 2016.
