ITV racing tips for Saturday from Cheltenham & Doncaster

There are eight great races on the box this Saturday and we’ve picked out the best bets from Cheltenham and Doncaster for our ITV racing tips.

The December Gold Cup and a Grade Two novices' hurdle feature among five contests from Prestbury Park, while the action at Town Moor is also competitive.

Cheltenham 13:15 – She Is For Me Boys

Jamie Snowden’s lightly-raced six-year-old is on a four-timer after following up a couple of novice hurdle triumphs with a convincing victory on her debut over fences at Kempton.

While She Is For Me Boys made a mistake at the first obstacle that day, her jumping was largely sound thereafter and although the Quintessentially Mares’ Handicap Chase will be a tougher assignment, she remains massively unexposed.

Cheltenham13:50 – Imperial Saint

It is great to see a really strong field turn out for the Support The Hunt Family Fund December Gold Cup and this seven-year-old catches the eye as a value pick.

Imperial Saint made great progress last term, ending the season 20lb higher in the ratings, and he was well fancied for his reappearance in the Old Roan at Aintree.

He somewhat disappointed when only fifth but it later transpired he had a back problem, so is given another chance to prove he is not yet in the grip of the handicapper.

Cheltenham14:25 – David's Well

Returned from almost a year off to score readily in what appeared a decent race at Haydock recently, always doing enough to see off well-backed favourite Escapeandevade, with that pair pulling well clear of the third.

In-form handler Chris Gordon was talking of a possible Grand Annual bid at the Festival after that success and David’s Well could still be ahead of the assessor at this stage.

Doncaster 14:40 – Kateira

Dan Skelton takes a strong team up to Town Moor and this seven-time winner can prove a cut above her rivals in the Listed-class mares' hurdle.

Kateira took full advantage of Champion Hurdle heroine Golden Ace being below par at Wetherby last month and was then far from disgraced when fourth behind Wodhooh in the Ascot Hurdle.

Cheltenham 15:00 – Conman John

An October course-and-distance win showcased this Scottish raider’s stamina and there does not appear to be anything lurking in the Grade Two Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle capable of outstaying him.

Cheltenham 15:35 – Sweet Caryline

Joe Tizzard is another trainer going great guns this term and this seven-year-old has done her bit by scoring at Chepstow and Wincanton, adding to a Newton Abbot victory towards the end of spring.

When a mare is in such good spirits, it usually pays to stick with her.
