George Boughey has made no secret of the regard in which he holds this Night Of Thunder colt, who recovered from a slow start to post an emphatic victory on his racecourse bow at Newbury.
Bow Echo had to show plenty of spirit to get the better of another highly-rated two-year-old in Publish at Haydock, which should stand him in good stead for this step up to Group Two company in the Tattersalls Online Royal Lodge Stakes.
Haydock 14:05 – Woolhampton

Rod Millman’s mare is on a hat-trick after swooping late to strike at Sandown and Ascot and it is hard for the handicapper to keep up with strong-finishing sprinters when they start to improve like this.
Newmarket 14:25 – True Love
Newmarket 14:25 – True Love
Aidan O’Brien’s filly has put together an admirable sequence of results in some really tough races, claiming Group Two victories at Royal Ascot and the Curragh and only being beaten by smart sorts Lady Iman, Gstaad and Power Blue on her other three starts.
A short-priced reversal in the Phoenix Stakes was obviously frustrating but True Love returned a touch lame that day and securing a Group One success in the Tattersalls Sceptre Sessions Cheveley Park Stakes would be ample compensation.
Newmarket 15:00 – Wise Approach
Newmarket 15:00 – Wise Approach
It is hard to look past Charlie Appleby’s runner in the Group One Tattersalls Middle Park Stakes, a race the Godolphin handler won with Shadow Of Light 12 months ago.
Wise Approach has only put in one disappointing performance from five outings, scoring twice and being placed in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and Deauville’s elite-level Prix Morny, so everything suggests he will be a tough nut to crack.
Haydock 15:15 – First Ambition
Haydock 15:15 – First Ambition
Karl Burke has had to be patient with this four-year-old gelding, who made a successful racecourse debut at Newcastle in early January and only came back out last month, when gamely making all at Southwell.
He now competes on turf for the first time, but there is no reason to think that will be a problem for a son of multiple Group One-winning mare Laurens.
Newmarket 15:40 – Real Gain
Newmarket 15:40 – Real Gain
The Richard Hughes-trained gelding was ante-post favourite for last year's bet365 Cambridgeshire before having to miss out due to a setback and can hopefully go well at bigger odds this time around.
He recently returned to action with a very encouraging third at Goodwood, when understandably just faltering in the latter stages on unsuitable soft ground, and it would be no surprise to see him finish thereabouts in this big field.
