In this post you can find Irish Oaks odds ahead of this Saturday's final with some big market movers following the semi-final action.
Where? Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium, Dublin
Shelbourne Park will host the final of the €25,000 contest with Droopys Timing the biggest mover in the betting to be crowned the queen of the Dublin circuit following her semi-final performance.
This daughter of Dorotas Wildcat – Droopys Zero won her heat in 28.43 holding off a challenge from last year’s runner-up Scooby Duchess who is 8/1 from 12/1 to win for trainer Jennifer O’Donnell.
The Pat Buckley trained Bobsleigh Dream won her heat in 28.47 and although she broke well, she found herself with work to do, overcoming her rivals to win by one length after a classy display. She remains the favourite with her odds trimmed into 11/10 from 2/1.
Qualifiers Quivers Magic (3/1 from 10/1), Crafty Shivoo (4/1 from 20/1) and Glengar Martha (14/1 from 16/1) are also in the mix and make up the final six in what is a superb Irish Oaks final.
The 2023 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby is just over a month away from kicking off and the outcome of the Irish Oaks this Saturday is sure to have an impact on the betting.
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:
“Droopys Timing was a super semi-final heat winner last Saturday and she is now being backed to become the queen of Shelbourne Park, but she has to overcome dual-classic winner Bobsleigh Dream first and she is our biggest liability. Best of luck to all six finalists. The Irish Oaks is always a tremendous competition.”
Across the Irish Sea there is more top class greyhound racing action in the English Greyhound Derby. We previewed the English Greyhound derby in a recent post as the event now reaches the quarter-final stages
