Stakes ranging from €5 to €20 have been placed on the Andy Murray owned and trained star who qualified for the same stage for the second year in a row.
The son of Droopys Jet – Dream Queen ran a huge race in his quarter-final heat to finish third behind Ballymac Finn and Skywalker Barry.
It was a blanket finish with just ¾ of a length between the first two and another ¾ back to Nestor who finished extremely strongly.
The four-year-old is one of the oldest in the derby, but he retains plenty of ability and is an attractive 66/1 to win the €125,000 prize on September 24th.
Nestor was only denied a final berth by a length last year and there is plenty of support gathering for him to go all the way. He has yet to win a heat of the derby, but won the Trial Stake by seven lengths, so he is being given a lively chance as an outsider.
2. If your dog finishes 2nd, we will refund your stake as a free bet up to £/€20.
The Keeley McGee trained Maries Wedding is running out of her skin with her odds plummeting into 12/1 from 33/1 after her quarter-final win in 29.44.
Droopys Nice One qualified in the same heat finishing third but has been eased out to 33/1 from 25/1 in the latest betting.
The third bitch remaining in the competition is Crafty Kokoro for Peter Divilly who is 10/1 from 20/1.
Coolavanny Hoffa is 7/4 from 5/1 and remains the outright favourite after his sensational performance in 29.24.
Cryptopunk was second in that heat for trainer Graham Holland with his odds at 50/1 while Vincenzo grabbed third and is 10/1 from 12/1.
Heat winners Ballymac Finn and Callaway Pro Am have been backed into 5/1 and 7/1 respectively from 10/1.
Qualifier Born Warrior is 8/1 from 10/1 and Explosive Boy remains 14/1. Skywalker Barry remains 50/1 in the betting.
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “The BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby has been incredible and we have the semi-finals to look forward to this Saturday.
"It was all about the smaller trainers on Monday with Andy Murray’s Gortkelly Nestor now 50/1 from 66/1 and Keeley McGee’s Maries Wedding 12/1 from 33/1.
"The support is well spread, however with Michael J O’Donovan’s Coolavanny Hoffa the 7/4 from 5/1 favourite and he is a massive loser for us in the book along with Crafty Kokoro, who is 10/1 from 20/1 for the ladies.”
