Bambie Thug Odds-on To Advance To Final
Confidence is growing that Bambie Thug will sail through the semi-finals and seal Ireland’s first appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest final since 2018. Ireland‘s eclectic entertainer is just 4/7 with BoyleSports to qualify from the opening semi-final on May 7th, with Croatia and Ukraine looking near certainties for the final at odds of 1/250.

Bambie Thug however remains one of the outsiders at 33/1 to win this year’s contest in Malmö. The Cork star’s Doomsday Blue has failed to hit the right notes on Irish radio and the songster has now recorded a more traditional version of the ‘Ouija Pop’ track which is set to be released in the coming days. It has been stressed however that the re-release will not be the song of choice in Sweden this summer.

Despite punters going cold on Ireland’s chances of winning the competition for the first time since 1996, Bambie Thug wowed the crowd at a pre-Eurovision bash in London as 24 of the 37 contestants for this year’s contest took to the stage. But it was once again Croatia’s Baby Lasagna that stole the show and he is now just 3/1 to be crowned this year’s winner on May 11th.
Eurovision fans were not finding Nemo on the stage at the London bash, but the Swiss representative still tops the shortlist of punters as he is now the 15/8 favourite for success in Sweden, while the UK’s Olly Alexander is rated a 40/1 chance to end a 27-year drought for the country.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“After a show-stopping performance at London’s Eurovision Party, we’ve seen a surge of support for Bambie Thug to reach the final, but punters remain convinced that Switzerland’s Nemo will make a splash and lift the trophy.”
