Ireland Eurovision odds have seen a big move as the Irish dream of winning an 8th Eurovision title and a first since 1996.

Eurovision Odds Ireland

BoyleSports has slashed Bambie Thug’s odds of winning this year’s Eurovision Song Contest from 33/1 into 9/1 as the star is set to take to the stage on Tuesday night for the first semi-final.

Ireland has failed to hit the right notes at the iconic ballad bash in recent years, with Ryan O’Shaughnessy in 2018 the last act to fly the Irish flag on finals night. But confidence is growing that Bambie Thug could lift the famous trophy this weekend.

The Macroom-born songster is rated a near certainty by BoyleSports to make the final at odds of 1/50, as they’ll blast-out their ‘Ouija Pop’ hit Doomsday Blue on stage in Sweden on Tuesday night alongside red-hot Eurovision favourites Croatia.

Eurovision Betting Odds

Croatia’s Baby Lasagna heads the betting at 5/4 and has been making waves at Eurovision parties across Europe as he bids to claim a first Eurovision title for the country having knocked Switzerland’s Nemo (7/2) off his perch at the top of the betting.

The UK’s Olly Alexander remains a big outsider at 66/1 despite the BAFTA and Brit Awards nominated star already holding a place in the final. Italy (11/2) and Ukraine (15/2) are rated likely contenders, with Ireland now up to fifth favourites in the betting.

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:

“Punters had long thought Bambie’s chances of winning this year’s Eurovision were on thin-ice, but we’ve seen a significant gamble over the weekend on the Cork native ending Ireland’s 28-year drought.”
