Ireland’s hopes of hosting the 2023 Rugby World Cup have been dashed after they came last in the technical appraisal of the three host bids.

As a result of Ireland scoring 72.25%, finishing last in every criteria except for vision and hosting concept,

we've pushed Ireland right out to 12/1 from 4/6. ""

South Africa were unanimously recommended to host the tournament by the Rugby World Cup Limited Board to the World Rugby Council, seeing their odds shortening into 1/20 from 5/2.

France have drifted out to 10/1 from 10/3, after they finished second with a score of 75.88% to South Africa’s 78.91%.

Despite the official vote not taking place until November 15th, it looks as though it will be more of a formality that South Africa will host the tournament.
