York’s Dante Festival is always popular with punters and we’ve got five ITV racing tips from day one on Wednesday.

The Musidora Stakes could provide some more Classic clues, while the Minster Stakes features a number of top-notch sprinters.

14:20 Jorvik Handicap – Klassleader

The string of Newmarket-based handler William Haggas has really clicked into gear in recent weeks and this lightly-raced four-year-old can add another victory to his impressive strike-rate.

It is a well-worn cliche that Haggas loves nothing more than a winner at this track and the exiled Yorkshireman really does seem to target the meetings here.

A winner of one of his four races to date, Klassleader has so much more scope to improve this season than many of his rivals and it will be very surprising if he does not end the campaign rated higher than his current mark of 90.

14:55 Churchill Tyres Handicap – Binhareer

Another big hope for the Haggas and Tom Marquand combination, he was last seen winning over the same course and distance in October and while he reappears off a 10lb higher mark, rarely do you see a £100,000 race won with such authority.

15:30 Go Local Stores Minster Stakes – Aramram

Richard Hannon’s charge looks much improved this season and could be about to peak in this Group Two sprint.

While several of his rivals will be using this as a stepping stone to Royal Ascot, Aramram has already had two runs this term and should be fighting fit.

He reappeared for his first run at five in the Listed Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster, where he comfortably beat Jasour by a length.

That form probably needed improving on to consider him for a race like this, but he was a bit of an unlucky loser in the Abernant at Newmarket, when the race developed away from him on the far side before he flashed home for second.

Aramram’s last three runs have all been career bests and he might just catch a few of these cold at a fancy price.

16:05 Tattersalls Musidora Stakes – Legacy Link (NAP)

This Group Two contest has been a big Oaks trial down the years, with 2023 victor Soul Sister the last of eight fillies to go on and follow up at Epsom.

John and Thady Gosden struck with that winner and Emily Upjohn 12 months earlier, while five other Musidora scorers travelled up from Clarehaven between 2011 and 2017.

The Gosdens have some real strength in depth this season among their three-year-old colts and fillies, but through the winter Legacy Link was always regarded as potentially one of the best.

That is because the last time she was seen in action, she was running on strongly in the Fillies’ Mile, really catching the eye once meeting the rising ground.

With that in mind, Legacy Link should thrive for the extra two furlongs down the long Knavesmire straight and the Gosden team have always been aiming to bring her out here before hopefully heading to Epsom.

16:40 Conundrum HR Consulting Handicap – Inishbeg

Kevin Ryan is another trainer in fine form of late and this three-year-old son of Ghaiyyath definitely looks to be going in the right direction after scoring a shade cosily at Thirsk last time out.
