The Lope De Vega colt scored impressively at Group Three level last month over nine furlongs in the BOYLE Sports Meld Stakes at Leopardstown , laying down his challenge two furlongs out and powering on for a three-and-a-quarter-length victory.
He was then stepped up to a mile and a half in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood and pressed Classic contender Enceladus going into the final furlong, before being beaten a length and a quarter. We feel dropping back down in distance for the Strensall Stakes on a track that will be more to his liking can help the Ger Lyons -trained Irish raider return to winning ways.

Joseph O’Brien’s charge will be testing himself in handicap company for the first time after finishing down the field when sixth of seven runners in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp . That was Limestone’s only blip of the season after wins at Cork and Navan preceded him holding off Del Maro by a nose in the Group Two Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot.

The recent rainfall can play into the hands of this progressive James Owen -trained colt in the Group One City of York Stakes. Rogue Diplomat appreciates cut in the ground that suits his smooth-galloping action, as he showed last season with a Newmarket victory on good to soft followed by a pair of wins at Doncaster on an easy surface.
He was only a nose second on his return to action this season in the Lincoln on Town Moor and showed his versatility on firmer ground at Royal Ascot when running out a length winner in the Royal Hunt Cup .
That earned him the opportunity to try Group company for the first time at Glorious Goodwood over this seven-furlong trip, where only Lake Forest – who reopposes – proved a neck too good in the Lennox Stakes.
The Rogues Gallery -owned son of Calyx faces an even sterner test at the highest level on the Knavesmire , but he has earned his shot at the top table - and with conditions sure to suit, he can give a good account at an each-way price for our York Ebor Festival tips for Saturday.

Alan King’s charge was gelded over the winter and made his reappearance in a valuable Newmarket handicap, racing prominently before galloping on to beat John and Thady Gosden’s well-backed market leader Gamrai by a length.
Daiquiri Bay came up against Gamrai again at Royal Ascot in the Copper Horse Stakes over this same mile-and-six-furlong distance and although it was closer, he again got the better of the argument, holding off his old rival by a head. The four-year-old is clearly thriving this term and, despite being raised 9lb for those victories, can complete a hat-trick in the Ebor Handicap .
