We’re kicking off our Royal Ascot 2026 tips by taking a look at some of the international stars hoping to hit the target in Berkshire this summer. Britain’s biggest Flat racing festival has become a real global event in the modern era and here are five selections to consider from far afield:
King Charles III Stakes
TUESDAY: KING CHARLES III STAKES - OVERPASS @ 5/2
Australian sprinters have a great record in this race and Asfoora will bid to replicate her 2024 success after following on from past winners such as Choisir, Takeover Target, Miss Andretti, Scenic Blast and Nature Strip.
However, it is another thunder from Down Under who heads the betting this term and Overpass certainly arrives with solid credentials, with a stiff five furlongs expected to suit. Bjorn Baker’s seven-year-old has won 10 of his 36 races , including a couple of Group One triumphs, and although the most recent of those victories came in November 2024, he has been regularly performing with credit at the highest level in his native country.

Queen Mary Stakes
WEDNESDAY: QUEEN MARY STAKES – RUIVA @ 12/1
American handler Wesley Ward can boast four previous wins in this contest for juvenile fillies, scoring with Jealous Again, Acapulco, Lady Aurelia and Campanelle.
Exciting Churchill Downs winner Ruiva is rated the pick of his entries this term and Ward declared: “She ran the best race of any two-year-old in America so far numbers-wise and she just blitzed them over there just prior to the Kentucky Derby. “She will have to translate that form from dirt to turf, but she is by Munnings, who I have had a lot of success with on the grass. She’s an extremely talented, fast filly.”

Commonwealth Cup
FRIDAY: COMMONWEALTH CUP – OUTFIELDER @ 16/1
Missed out on a trip to Royal Ascot last year but did finish a creditable fourth in a red-hot renewal of the Prix Morny at Deauville behind Commonwealth Cup favourite Venetian Sun and recent Irish 2,000 Guineas hero Gstaad.
Outfielder made it four wins out of five in America with a double at Turfway Park and Churchill Downs this spring and is reported to have been “training super” ahead of this return to Europe by Ward , who won this with Campanelle in 2021 and stated: “I’m excited about this guy. He’s a big, massive monster and this is his year. Six furlongs should be made for this horse on a straight track with his big stride. He’s had an experience of running on a straight track in the Morny where it all was new to him and he is really going to be able to use that experience now.”
Commonwealth Cup - Outfielder @ 16/1
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes
SATURDAY: QUEEN ELIZABETH II STAKES – SATONO REVE @ 5/1
This has been another happy hunting ground for international runners and Joliestar , fresh from a hat-trick of big wins at Randwick , has been well backed to follow on from past Australian victors Choisir and Black Caviar, but could this be the year when a Japanese entry hits the jackpot?
Satono Reve ran a blinder 12 months ago when going down by just half a length to Lazzat in second place, with that pair pulling well clear of the rest of the field. Noriyuki Hori’s charge returns after landing a Chukyo Group One event at the end of March and then chasing home the mighty Ka Ying Rising in Hong Kong - and gallops watchers have been wowed by his recent work while stationed in Newmarket .
