Clean Sweep triggers windfall in Cork
A horse racing punter in County Cork has landed a sensational five-figure payout after picking every single winner on the card at Galway on Tuesday in an extraordinary clean sweep.
The lucky winner struck a €0.10 each-way Super Heinz with BOYLE Sports, meaning they parted with a total stake of €24.
The investment looked increasingly wise as the winners continued to rack up, with
Direct Approach, backed at 5/1, getting the remarkable streak underway in the 1.45. Inthenickoftime (7/4) quickly followed, while the winning run continued with Fire Coral (5/1), Road To Home (5/1), Springboard (7/1) and Ballagh Star (4/1) all reaching the winners’ enclosure.
That left the savvy punter just one winner short of an astonishing jackpot, and Tomahawk Juke duly completed the coup in the 5.15, defying a significant market drift from 4/1 to 11/1 to seal a remarkable seven from seven.
The BOYLE Sports Best Odds Guarantee ensured the haul was boosted to the tune of €50,000, meaning the punter transformed their stake into a mammoth total of €80,248.57.
A BOYLE Sports spokesperson said:
“It’s not often we see someone take on an entire card and predict each and every winner along the way, so this really was some achievement from our Cork customer. With a magnificent seven winners in the bag, they deserve every single cent, and we send huge congratulations on a sensational win.”
