Newmarket’s Craven Meeting concludes on Thursday and we’ve got ITV racing tips for all four contests being broadcast live on the box.
Subsequent 2000 Guineas winners such as Dancing Brave, Shadeed, Doyoun, Tirol and Haafhd have prevailed in past renewals of the feature race, which could again prove a leading Classic trial this term.

Newmarket Thursday Tips
13:50 Tip
13:50 Betway Handicap – Treanmor
This Frankel colt won over course and distance on his debut last May before disappointing after going off as favourite in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Having been given time to get back on track, Treanmor put in a couple of solid performances out in Dubai over the winter and this will be his first run since being gelded, which could settle him further.
14:25 Tip
14:25 Wood Ditton Maiden Stakes – Portcullis
This race for three-year-old debutants may not be as prestigious as it once was but there are several promising sorts entered in the 2026 renewal.
Portcullis is definitely one for the short list, with the royal home-bred being by Frankel out of French 1,000 Guineas ace Castle Lady.
Ryan Moore riding for John and Thady Gosden only adds to the appeal and hopefully The King and The Queen have a hot prospect on their hands.
15:00 Tip
15:00 Zyn Abernant Stakes – Beckford’s Folly
Charlie Appleby’s charge enjoyed great success at HQ as a two-year-old and will aim for a fourth win at the Suffolk track on his seasonal reappearance.
Beckford’s Folly landed a couple of novice triumphs on the July Course last summer and later showed plenty of spirit to get up by a nose in the Cornwallis Stakes.
Stepping back up to six furlongs should suit the son of Lope De Vega, who seems very versatile in terms of ground conditions.
15:35 Tip
15:35 Craven Stakes – Hawk Mountain (NAP)
Aidan O’Brien’s Wootton Bassett colt can pick up where he left off as a juvenile and further enhance his credentials as a Classic contender this season.
Hawk Mountain improved throughout last season, making all for a convincing victory in the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh before staying on well from the front to claim Group One glory in Doncaster’s Futurity.
It looks likely that Hawk Mountain is heading down the Derby route, as he has inherited plenty of stamina from his dam Hydrangea, who scored at elite level up to 12 furlongs, but the Rowley Mile takes some getting at this point and his class can see him through.
