All of the talk in racing circles this week has been about big-money buys at the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale but it will be nice to get back to matters on the track with our ITV racing tips for Friday.
There is a large and varied list of events on the box, with Group One fare from Newmarket in the Fillies’ Mile , more Flat action from York and a couple of well-contested hurdle races at Chepstow .
With nine contests to choose from, here are our best bets.

Geoff Oldroyd’s charge massively outran her 50/1 odds in the Flying Childers at Doncaster and can have a say in the Cornwallis Stakes . Squeezed out close home on Town Moor , she could easily have finished even closer, and this stiffer finish might suit.

14:05 YORK – REGENCY ROYAL @ 7/2
This son of Calyx made it third time lucky when overcoming a little bit of trouble in running to power home and score comfortably at Chester , giving the impression that there is even more improvement to come ahead of the British EBF £100,000 Final .
14:25 Newmarket Tip
14:25 NEWMARKET – FLORA OF BERMUDA (NAP) @ 7/4
Andrew Balding ’s mare already has a couple of Group Three wins to her credit and appears to have been found a good opportunity to score at a slightly higher level in the Challenge Stakes . Flora Of Bermuda ’s most recent effort behind More Thunder at Doncaster in the Park Stakes was right up there with her best performances and the form has received a few boosts, so this might be her last chance of a win at this grade before heading off for a second career at stud.

14:57 NEWMARKET – ROGUE PASSION @ 4/1
Ed Bethell ’s juvenile can reward punters who value form over hype with victory in the Fillies’ Mile . Musical Times is due to go off as an odds-on favourite based on the manner of her seven-length success in the May Hill at Doncaster , but second there was Scommessa Sicura , who is a rank outsider for this Group One , so there could be a chance that the Godolphin hotpot has been overrated.
With that in mind, Rogue Passion is a clear next best, as the form of her Group Two win in France last time out could not have worked out any better. She beat Amusingly , who won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere against the colts on Sunday, while back in third after meeting trouble in running was Data , narrowly beaten in the Prix Marcel Boussac .
Amusingly ’s rider Colin Keane expressed surprise that his mount was beaten that day and the manner of her win at the weekend suggests she is right out of the top drawer, but the fact that Rogue Passion was able to run her down suggests she might be too.
15:12 Chepstow Tip
15:12 CHEPSTOW – QUEENIE ST CLAIR @ 33/1
Nick Scholfield has made a flying start to his training career and sent out this mare to win a valuable pot at Kelso last season. After a recent spin on the Flat, she should be fitter than most in the Welsh Champion Hurdle and could reward each-way backers at a big price.
