The Curragh will host Ireland's first Classic of 2026 on Saturday, and we're ranking all 10 runners in our Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas tips.
Following victories for Richard Hannon 's Rosallion and the John and Thady Gosden -trained Field Of Gold in the past two renewals, will there be a third straight British winner or will the home team hit back?
Here's how we rate each contender in reverse order:
Guineas Contenders Ranked
2,000 Guineas Contenders Ranked
Take Charge Star
10. Take Charge Star @ 100/1
Johnny Murtagh 's rank outsider has only won once in five outings and looks to be making up the numbers on all known evidence.
Bamako Beach
9. Bamako Beach @ 66/1
Still a maiden after a couple of neck defeats at Naas and Gowran Park , and it is hard to see him getting off the mark here.
Pacific Avenue
8. Pacific Avenue @ 66/1
Charlie Appleby sends two runners over from Newmarket , and this is very much his second string, even though the Dubawi colt wasn't disgraced behind Bow Echo in the Royal Lodge last term.
Neolithic
7. Neolithic @ 50/1
By far the lesser-fancied of Aidan O'Brien 's two entries, and it feels as though this front-runner is primarily engaged to ensure a true-run race for his stablemate.
Go Just Do It
6. Go Just Do It @ 40/1
Joseph O'Brien is never afraid of pitching his horses in at the deep end, and this Kingman colt earned an upgrade by scoring comfortably at Gowran Park last month.
Power Blue
5. Power Blue @ 33/1
Ambitious owners Amo Racing are no strangers to having longshots run well in Classics, and although this colt was a well-beaten seventh in the English equivalent, he did upset 1000 Guineas winner True Love to land a Group One success here as a juvenile.
Alparslan
4. Alparslan @ 8/1
A member of our 10 to follow for this season, he did us proud when landing the Greenham Stakes at Newbury at 9/1, with Zavateri and Albert Einstein in behind.
Skipped a run in the Newmarket Guineas due to unsuitable fast ground, but should be okay with conditions at the Curragh , where he demolished a big field when winning a valuable sales race last September.
Thesecretadversary
3. Thesecretadversary @ 8/1
Fozzy Stack 's charge showed consistently solid form as a juvenile and returned to action with a decisive Group Three victory over Power Blue at Leopardstown .
That prompted connections to make the trip over to Newmarket , where he ran well for a fair way before perhaps just paying the price for pulling too hard early on when fading back into fifth. Can he settle better here?
Distant Storm
2. Distant Storm @ 4/1
Appleby picked up this prize for Godolphin with Native Trail in 2022, and this son of Night Of Thunder showed plenty of ability at two, winning at Group Three level before staying on nicely for third in the Dewhurst .
Filled the same placing in the English 2000 Guineas after being sent off joint-favourite, and although he has eight lengths to make up on Gstaad , Appleby has reported that his charge "looked great" in a gallop last Saturday.
Gstaad
1. Gstaad @ 4/9
After finding only Bow Echo too good at Newmarket , this Starspangledbanner colt is a red-hot favourite to go one better here and give Aidan O'Brien a record-extending 13th win in this race.
Gstaad had a busy time of things as a juvenile and was second in three Group One s before finally getting his day in the sun at the Breeders' Cup , so a three-week gap should be plenty long enough for him to regroup.
Paul Smith , son of Coolmore 's Derrick Smith , said: "He's well and has come out of the Newmarket race well. They're very happy with him at home…and he's been in super form since the race."
