The Grand National is the one race a year that stops the nation. On Saturday 11th April at 4pm, 34 horses will jump 30 fences at Aintree in one of sport's most iconic spectacles – and whether you follow racing all year round or haven't thought about a horse since last April, the Grand National has a way of making everyone care.
The easiest way to make it even more fun? A sweepstake.
What's in the Kit?
We've put together a free, print-ready Grand National 2026 sweepstake kit featuring all 34 confirmed runners, complete with jockey silks so everyone can spot their horse on the day. It comes in two formats to suit however you want to run it:
- The draw sheet – print it off, write each player's name next to their horse and keep it pinned up somewhere everyone can see it. Simple, visual and great for following along as the race unfolds.
- The cut-out version – print, cut up the 34 names and throw them in a hat. Each player draws a horse at random. Classic sweepstake format, zero fuss.

How to Run A Grand National Sweepstake
It couldn't be simpler. Decide what each entry costs – £1 or €1 works perfectly for a big group – then agree on how the prize pot gets split. Most sweepstakes pay out on the winner only, but you can add a place for second or third to keep more people in the mix right to the finish.
Print off as many sheets as you need, get everyone to draw their horse, and you're done. The whole thing takes about five minutes to set up.
Why It Works for Everyone
The beauty of a Grand National sweepstake is that it levels the playing field completely. The racing expert and the person who just liked the sound of a horse's name are in with exactly the same chance. With 34 runners and only one winner, anything can happen – and in the Grand National, it usually does.
Last year's winner Nick Rockett went off at 33/1. The year before, I Am Maximus won at 7/1. The year before that, Noble Yeats – a 50/1 shot nobody saw coming – landed the race. There is no such thing as a safe bet in the Grand National, which is precisely what makes a sweepstake so much fun.
Remember, Always Gamble Responsibly.
