All of the leading yards are represented in this maiden hurdle but there may be some each-way value to be had by backing Andrew Kinirons’ charge to go well to kick off our Galway Plate Day tips. C Pas Possible is a half-brother to useful chaser Lombron and showed enough when third on his debut under rules at Punchestown last month to suggest he has a bright future himself.

Still a maiden after eight attempts over timber but is worth sticking with following a series of encouraging placed efforts, including a fine runner-up effort at Cork and a Clonmel fourth of 16 since joining Cian Collins from Paul Mulligan.

18:05 – ZAHRA DODVILLE
British raiders have a good record in Irish handicaps and this well-bred four-year-old filly can further enhance that for red-hot Newmarket handler James Owen. French import Zahra Dodville made a striking debut for the stable when scoring by 15 lengths at Fakenham before a good third in Listed company at Newbury and warmed up for this trip with a close Cartmel second following a winter break.

18:40 GALWAY PLATE – WILL THE WISE (NAP) @ 8/1
Gavin Cromwell has had this race in mind for his likeable seven-year-old ever since he ran an excellent race to finish second of 23 in the Plate at Cheltenham and then went one better in the 27-runner Topham during Aintree’s Grand National Festival.
Will The Wise was first and second in novice chase events at this track last October and looks well placed to challenge for Galway Plate glory after being raised just 5lb for his stylish success on Merseyside .

Switching to the Flat section of our Galway Festival Wednesday tips , this son of Frankel is out of a dam of three winners and should have no trouble getting off the mark himself at some point judged on May’s head second to odds-on favourite Atomic City at Cork , after which he was gelded.

19:50 – GOD OF POWER
Thurles trainer Andrew Slattery is very much on the hot list and the feeling is that this three-year-old still has more to offer after following up a nice Limerick triumph by just getting reeled in late on at Listowel and Leopardstown .

20:20 – COCK AND BULL
Emmet Mullins had a couple of placed runners go well on the opening night of the Galway Festival and this top-weight is also tipped to put in a bold showing.
Four times a winner in England when trained by Michael Bell , Cock And Bull took a little while to settle into his new surroundings after a winter switch and failed to shine in four starts over hurdles, but last month’s 33/1 Curragh third back on the level was much more like it.
