Windfall triggered by modest flutter
A punter in Belfast has picked up a tidy five-figure profit on the horses after they picked out the winners in six races at Royal Ascot.
The anonymous winner only parted with a total of £2 in a BOYLE Sports shop as they struck a £1 each-way accumulator on six horses running on the second day of the Royal Ascot meeting on Wednesday.
The winning streak started when the aptly named 10/3 favourite Victorious won the Queen Mary Stakes, while victories for Limestone (10/3), Blue Bolt (3/1), Ombudsman (11/10) and Alobayyah (11/4) were all more than predictable according to their short odds.
However, the coup was crowned by a stunning pick in the Royal Hunt Cup, where Rogue Diplomat made a mockery of outside odds of 28/1.
With a stunning six successive winners in the bag, the lucky punter was able to swap their £2 betslip for a grand total of £19,575.62.
A spokesperson for BOYLE Sports said:
“Hats off to our Belfast customer who is laughing all the way to the bank after turning their savvy Ascot selections into such a handsome windfall. They only needed £2 to do it so fair play to them for aiming high, and we hope they enjoy a right royal celebration.”
