Having correctly selected the Champion Hurdle 1-2-3 on Tuesday, let’s hope we can finish off the Cheltenham Festival in a similar fashion!

Runner Rankings
2026 Cheltenham Gold Cup Runners Ranked
11. Gold Tweet
11. Gold Tweet – 100/1
Has gone 10 races without a win back in France and is not expected to fare any better than his moderate eighth in the 2023 Stayers’ Hurdle.
10. Firefox
10. Firefox – 33/1
Belied his big odds when finishing fourth in the Irish Gold but weakened gradually on the run-in at Leopardstown, so this stiffer test of stamina is unlikely to suit.
9. Envoi Allen
9. Envoi Allen – 28/1
Henry de Bromhead’s 12-year-old has enjoyed plenty of Cheltenham Festival highlights, including Champion Bumper, Turners Novices’ Hurdle and Ryanair Chase wins from seven past visits, so fingers crossed the golden oldie enjoys this Prestbury Park swansong.
Spillane's Tower
8. Spillane’s Tower – 12/1
Claimed a couple of Grade One wins as a novice in Ireland and earned this crack at Gold Cup glory with a brave Cotswold Chase success on Trials Day, but it would be a surprise if he’s quite good enough to match the big guns.
L'Homme Presse
7. L’Homme Presse – 50/1
Was just denied back-to-back Cotswold Chase victories by Spillane’s Tower in January but gets the nod to turn the tables here on account of his fine Festival form, winning the 2022 Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase and finishing fourth in the 2024 Gold Cup.
Grey Dawning
6. Grey Dawning – 12/1
When everything goes well, Dan Skelton’s flying grey is a superb sight in full flight, as when scoring in Grade One company at this venue as a novice and at Haydock in November, but the big question is how will he respond if coming under pressure in this toughest of tests?
Haiti Couleurs
5. Haiti Couleurs – 5/1
Has a special place in our hearts as last year’s BOYLE Sports Irish Grand National hero and has since added the Welsh equivalent and a comfortable Denman Chase success to his impressive CV, which already included a National Hunt Chase triumph here, so there are certainly no stamina doubts.
Inothewayurthinkin
4. Inothewayurthinkin – 7/1
Has struggled badly in three outings this term but if any track can inspire a return to form, it is Cheltenham, where Gavin Cromwell’s eight-year-old has romped home under 12st in the 2024 Kim Muir and was so spectacular in brushing aside Galopin Des Champs in last season’s Gold Cup.
Cromwell had initially expressed doubts about his participation after he took a heavy fall at the Dublin Racing Festival but he has been the subject of plenty of market support in the build-up and will sport first-time cheekpieces.
The Jukebox Man
3. The Jukebox Man – 4/1
Harry Redknapp’s pride and joy sparked wild celebrations when battling on bravely to claim King George glory at Kempton on Boxing Day and would be a hugely popular winner of this blue riband event.
Yet to race over fences at Cheltenham, but trainer Ben Pauling insisted: “He is uncomplicated and can operate just as effectively on any track.
“I firmly believe he will stay and be much more effective over this longer trip than three miles. It was only his tenacity and will to win that enabled him to get back in front at Kempton.”
Jango Baie
2. Jango Baie – 4/1
While only fourth in the King George, he was only beaten half a length and last year’s dramatic Arkle triumph highlighted how he could easily make up that difference by storming home up the Cheltenham hill.
“I think he’s my best chance in the Gold Cup for a while,” said Nicky Henderson, who has previously struck with Long Run in 2011 and Bobs Worth two years later.
“Kempton and Cheltenham are two completely different places but we know he comes up the hill, even if it is at the end of two miles, so I think he ticks most boxes.”
Gaelic Warrior
1. Gaelic Warrior – 4/1
Was just held off in third in that blanket finish to the King George and had to settle for second best in the Irish Gold Cup behind Fact To File, but does have five Grade One victories to his credit and is a proven Cheltenham Festival performer.
Gaelic Warrior’s 2024 Arkle success may have come over much shorter but he won going away at 3m 1f in last year’s Aintree Bowl and connections will be full of confidence after Lossiemouth carried the same colours to Champion Hurdle glory.
“I’d love to win the Gold Cup now, hopefully we can do the double on Friday!” declared owner Rich Ricci after Tuesday’s triumph.
